Maintenance Engineer required in Widnes - £16.70 per hour Our client, a leader in their industry are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team at their site in Widnes. Your role will primarily be reactive/fault finding and planned maintenance work. Key Responsibilities Preventive Maintenance: Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks. Reactive Maintenance: Diagnose and repair equipment failures. Troubleshooting: Utilise technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in machinery and systems. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations, promoting a safe working environment. Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency. Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to understand equipment performance and support operational needs. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory. Experience and qualifications/knowledge/skills Education: diploma in Mechanical Engineering (additional Electrical Engineering skills would be an advantage) Relevant certifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, apprenticeship/time served) are advantageous. Technical Skills: Proficiency in mechanical fault finding reactive maintenance essential Experience: Chemical sector or ATEX/COMAH site experience would be advantageous but not essential Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support cross-functional initiatives. Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to health and safety practices and promoting a culture of safety.
