Adecco are seeking a highly experienced Housing Policy Officer to join an East-London Local Authority on an interim basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting policies, producing and monitoring strategies, and delivering effective procedures for service areas with a particular focus on Housing Management such as ASB policies and how estates are looked after.

Full Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
£300 per day Umbrella
Flexible working - 2 to 4 days per week in office
ASAP startKey Responsibilities:
Draft policies, produce and monitor strategies, and deliver effective procedures for service areas.
Liaise across services and with external stakeholders such as residents, the voluntary sector, and organizations including the Housing Ombudsman and Regulator of Social Housing.
Monitor and improve services as part of the work of the Housing Strategy and Partnerships team.
Maintain an up-to-date understanding of legislation, government directives, professional advice, and guidance on good practice from other authorities and agencies.
Develop effective policies that consider current housing policy, legislation, regulatory guidance, feedback, and learning from residents and their service experience, and best practice.
Review and update existing policies with council colleagues.
Develop operational procedures that align with the Council's policies.
Implement the roll-out of updated or new policies and procedures to Housing staff and other council colleagues.
Coordinate feedback on draft policies, procedures, and strategies from senior officers and ensure work is approved according to the Council's governance arrangements.
Ensure compliance with the new national regulatory regime.
Develop and deliver responses to regulatory judgments, including reviewing and producing commentary and analysis for governance reports and regulatory submissions.
Draft and coordinate responses to significant policy consultations.Job Context:
The post holder reports to the Housing Strategy Manager.
No line management responsibility unless dictated by the demands of the service.
No budget responsibility unless dictated by the demands of the service.Qualifications and Experience:
Extensive experience in housing management.
Strong understanding of housing policy, legislation, and regulatory guidance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work creatively and collaboratively across departments.
Proven track record of producing high-quality written reports.
