A suitably qualified teacher is sought for the above position. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach IGCSE Business Studies and IB Diploma Business & Management in an international setting. An ability to teach Economics would be welcomed but not essential.

Eligibility Requirements
Greek Applicants
* A relevant degree is required.
* Must be registered in the official registry for private school teachers ( Epetirida ) or eligible for registration.
* International teaching qualifications do not confer Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for Greek candidates.
International Applicants
* Must hold both a degree and a recognized teaching qualification from their country of citizenship.
* UK candidates must have QTS and a Department for Education Teacher Reference Number.
* The following are not recognized in Greece:
* iPGCE
* TESOL, DELTA, or similar language teaching qualifications

The prime responsibility of a subject teacher is to teach the subject to a high standard and to keep up with developments within the subject area.
A list of the main responsibilities of the post is as follows:
To teach her/his subject to a high standard, encouraging independent thought and analysis.
To attend departmental meetings and share in the planning of the department
* To help develop the curriculum
* To write schemes of work
* To write assessment policies
* To review methods of teaching
* To assess the progress of pupils
* To help organise departmental resources
* To support departmental inset
* To support new members of the department.
To attend meetings as required
* Staff meetings
* Departmental meetings
* Parents’ Evenings
* Committee/Working Parties by invitation.
To monitor the progress of pupils by
* Setting and marking suitable work on a regular basis and as defined by the homework timetable
* Implementing the departmental assessment policy
* Completing target sheets as requested
* Awarding grades in consultation with the department
* Producing reports as required
* Contributing to UCAS references
* By keeping a record of all marks, grades and reports
* Referring pupils making unsatisfactory progress to the appropriate Head of Key stage
* Consulting with the Learning Support Coordinator with reference to pupils with special needs.

* Enforcing good behaviour in the classroom and around the school

To maintain secure knowledge and understanding of the subject and to keep up to date with contemporary curriculum developments in taught courses.
While the above includes a description of the essential functions of the position, other duties may be assigned by the Head of Humanities.
