Room Leader Reports to: Nursery Manager Job Purpose: The Room Leader ensures a high standard of care and education in line with Montessori principles and EYFS guidelines. This role involves leading staff, maintaining a stimulating learning environment, supporting parent engagement, ensuring compliance, and overseeing the daily management of the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Staff Leadership & Support: As a nursery room leader you will inspire and support team members to uphold Montessori and EYFS standards. Maintain team morale, communication, and a positive working environment. Supervise staff performance, provide feedback, and assist with interviews and inductions. Step in for the Nursery Manager when required to ensure smooth operations. Childcare & Learning: Oversee a nurturing and inclusive learning environment using Montessori principles. Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Plan and assess learning objectives, maintaining accurate child development records. Ensure smooth transitions for children moving to new schools. Parent Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, keeping them informed on progress and events. Promote nursery offerings, including creative classes and additional services. Address parent concerns professionally and ensure effective communication. Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and report concerns appropriately. Maintain hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance, assisting with inspections. Work with external agencies when necessary for safeguarding and SEN support. Administrative Responsibilities: Manage classroom records, observations, and curriculum planning. Maintain the classroom aesthetic and learning environment in line with Montessori principles. Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and assist with inspections. Salary: £32,000
