Job description
Job responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for:
1. Provision of person-centred, professional nursing care to residents within Older Adults nursing homes and Short-Term Services.
2. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care plans for a designated number of residents.
3. Maintaining accurate records on resident care and reporting clinical and non-clinical events to assist with internal and external audits.
4. Supervising, mentoring, supporting and educating more junior staff in the home.
5. Liaising with other healthcare professionals and work in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, ensuring a timely escalation when needed.
6. Promoting good practice to achieve continuous improvements in nursing care and assist with audit trials and bench marking clinical services within the home.
Day to day tasks may include:
7. Phlebotomy, injections, syringe pumps, insertion/removal of urinary catheters and removal of sutures.
8. Dealing with wounds.
9. Supporting end of life care.
10. Involving and engaging with residents and their families during the care planning process

12. Where a professional code of conduct applies to the role, this must also be adhered to.
13. All employees will be required to have an understanding and awareness of the specific responsibilities placed on individuals who care for vulnerable adults.
