Job Purpose:
One of the key objectives of Pilgrim's Shared Services Ltd is to provide valued added expertise in reporting services to other Business Units in the group. This leads to the creation of the GL assistant accountant role, reporting to the Senior Accountant within the Fixed Assets and Leasing team. The purpose of the role will be to:
* Provide accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders, including the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead, Accountants, RTR Senior Managers, Head of RTR, Indirect Tax & Financial Reporting Manager, and other teams within Financial Services and the wider business.
* Operate within the Tax & RTR stream, working closely with the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead, site accountants, and key stakeholders to support the preparation of monthly VAT, Intrastat, and overhead accounts, and deliver on the financial performance of the business unit and subsequent reporting.
* This role is interesting and diverse, suited for someone who is flexible and adept at problem-solving.
* Ensure that all relevant SOX controls are completed in the area and support external and internal audit requirements.
Job Duties:
* Reporting to the Financial Reporting Fixed Assets Lead, this role will deliver financial reporting across Pilgrim's Europe group.
* Monthly processing of depreciation and respective leasing postings.
* Support and produce overhead reporting for various departments within the shared service company.
* Complete all reporting in line with established group timetables.
* Support the delivery of key balance sheet account reconciliations that feed into the overall entity reconciliations.
* Work with other members of the finance team to ensure consistency of working across the business units and implement best practices.
* Operate with the highest standards of financial integrity and demonstrate company values at a high level.
* Collaborate as part of a highly motivated team, supporting other members.
* Carry out other duties reasonably requested to ensure the efficient running of the Pilgrim's Shared Services Financial Services Department.
Essential:
* Part qualified accountant or at least 2 years' experience in accounts preparation.
* Demonstrable technical knowledge.
* Ability to build positive working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues.
* A team player who can work collaboratively across business units.
* Strong interpersonal and planning skills.
* Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
