CAMHS Intensive Community Support Team Practitioner
Band 6
Job overview
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated clinician to work within RDaSH’s CYP Intensive Community Support Team. The successful candidate will be offered an induction period in order to settle into the role, along with further training and development such as DBT-A, Solution Focused Therapy and Systemic Therapy in order to deliver community based interventions to our young people who require intensive support.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Children and Young People’s Intensive Community Support Team, working across Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber. The team has been under development over the last 12 months and has established foundations, and the successful candidate will be part of future service development in order to uplift our offer and deliver excellent care.
The service will operate flexibly over 7 days per week to provide intensive support for a shared caseload of CYP in a range of settings. Team members will be required to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the service.
Main duties of the job
Clinical knowledge and relevant experience of assessing and managing risk within a mental health or social care setting, admission avoidance, care planning and delivering therapeutic interventions is essential, however continuing support and development opportunities will be provided. Professional registration with HCPC, Social Work England or the NMC is required.
Key components of the role include comprehensive mental health risk assessment, crisis contingency plans, care planning and working towards individualised goals. You will work collaboratively to promote safety and support young people and their family/carers through face-to-face work, via phone and by utilising technology. The post also involves liaison with other services and external agencies to ensure effective pathways of care.
This is an extremely rewarding but challenging role. You will be working as part of a team, and you will need a high level of emotional resilience to support young people and families at times of distress. You may also be required to work alone at times and need to prioritise work to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. Due to the geographical area covered it is also essential that you have the ability to travel in order to attend assessments, these may be across the whole RDaSH footprint of Rotherham, Doncaster and Scunthorpe.
