Job Purpose:
The Multi-Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer will be primarily responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving electrical and mechanical production machinery and equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient operation of the manufacturing facility, minimizing downtime, and enhancing production efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs with a strong focus on electrical systems to prevent equipment failures.
2. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults promptly to minimize downtime.
3. Electrical Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on electrical systems and production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
4. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with Health & Safety regulations, particularly regarding electrical safety.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all electrical and mechanical maintenance activities, including repairs, parts used, and work completed.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
1. Experience: Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a strong emphasis on electrical systems, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
2. Skills: Strong electrical skills, including fault-finding and repair, complemented by mechanical maintenance capabilities.
3. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Qualifications: Relevant engineering qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance, with an electrical focus or equivalent.
5. Degree: A degree or advanced certification in Electrical Engineering is highly desirable.
6. Flexibility: Ability to work shifts.
