Job summary
To ensure the smooth and effective running of the HSSE Team and wider HSSE function across the business, provide direct administrative support to The Head of HSSE and HSSE Governance Manager, and liaise with area operational resources.
Key skills required for this role
Our client is looking for a minimum of 2 years' experience working alongside health and safety teams, preferably in utilities or construction, with desirable qualifications including IOSH/NEBOSH or other safety-related certifications.

Job description
1. The day-to-day effective running of the HSSE Team and wider function.
2. The maintenance of the H&S Management system including document control.
3. Monitoring legislative updates.
4. Supporting internal and external reporting.
5. Building and maintaining systems and databases that ensure the business have compliance across all HSEWQ areas. These include Accidents and Incidents, Toolbox talks/Safety Alerts, YSWD, Mental Health, HAVS.
6. Administrating training and development for all employees.
7. Managing records relating to HSSE audits, toolbox talks, loss events and incidents, near misses, working hours, etc.
8. Producing monthly HSSE reports for the business.
9. Supporting the production and issue/delivery of safety alerts and toolbox talks.
10. Update / amend HSSE procedures as directed by the Head of Department.
11. Providing inductions to new staff.
12. Conducting and co-ordinating DSE assessments.
13. Supporting and co-ordinating Stand downs.
14. Assist with the co-ordination of yearly health surveillance.
15. Assist with the administration of the drug and alcohol testing programme.
16. Order and give oversight to PPE issue.
17. Provide support and administration for all emergency equipment, i.e., gas monitors and lone working (people safe).
18. Stand in for the Governance Manager as required.
19. Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post
