The Role
The Habitat Creation Operative will play a key role within a small but rapidly growing team, focusing on practical, hands-on habitat creation and management projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in ecology or habitat management and will be involved in every stage of the process, from planning and design through to on-site execution. This role will require collaboration with other teams, including Ecology, Landscape, and Arboriculture, to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet high environmental standards. The Habitat Creation Operative will take charge of various projects, ensuring smooth operations and efficient delivery while maintaining a strong focus on detail.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage habitat creation and restoration projects from start to finish.
2. Collaborate with Ecology, Landscape, and Arboriculture teams to ensure projects meet environmental and design specifications.
3. Perform on-site tasks, including planting, habitat monitoring, and ecological assessments.
4. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained on all projects.
5. Maintain strong communication with clients, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
6. Travel to various sites, with flexibility for overnight stays on specific projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
* CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card required.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Background in ecology, environmental science, or habitat management.
* Strong understanding of habitat restoration and creation techniques.
* Experience in practical, hands-on environmental work.
* Ability to manage projects independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to travel for overnight stays when required.
