Control Systems Software Engineer | Energy Sector | Stone, Staffordshire | Competitive Salary (enquire for details) | Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
MERITUS are working with a leading consultancy within the Energy sector, looking for experienced Control Systems Software Engineers to join their team due to an influx of new projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in renewable energy and power generation. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced PLC and SCADA/DCS systems, contributing to upgrades, system improvements, and new builds in highly regulated industrial environments.
They are based in Stone and operate a hybrid working model with 3 days per week on-site.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement PLC-based control systems and configure advanced SCADA/DCS platforms.
* Create and review functional and detailed design specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Lead small projects or sub-teams, performing internal and customer acceptance testing.
* Drive quality assurance and ensure effective delivery across the full project lifecycle.
Key Skills:
* At least 5 years' experience in PLC systems such as Siemens PCS7, Rockwell ControlLogix, or Schneider EcoStruxure, and SCADA platforms like WinCC or Zenon.
* Proficiency in IEC61131 languages, including ladder, function block, and structured text.
* Strong background in preparing design documentation and test plans, and delivering systems to QA standards.
* Willingness to travel, with a full UK driving license, and capable of site-based commissioning work.
