We require enthusiastic committed and motivated nurses with excellent communication skills to join our Adult Emergency Department Nursing team at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The shift pattern will be working over 24 hours per day 365 days per year.
An opportunity has arisen for 10 WTE Registered Nurses as a result of an exciting service development and expansion of the nursing team working across the Adult Emergency Department footprint.
We welcome all levels of experience providing the essential criteria is met. You will be fully supported within ED by colleagues, as well as having a Clinical Educator who will ensure you are provided with the right level of training and development to meet your individual needs.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible and accountable for the safe, effective and compassionate nursing care for all patients in ward/department area.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code
To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team, acting as a role model
Support ward/department manager to ensure organisational goals/objectives are met within ward/department
When taking charge of the ward/department or in the absence of the ward/department manager, is directly responsible for ensuring that clinical, professional and cleanliness standards are maintained in the entire ward/department
To ensure effective communication internally and externally regarding patient care and resources

* Current NMC Registration (Level 1 adult nurse) or evidence of qualification if newly qualified.

* Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject (UK equivalent).
* Mentorship certificate/Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Skills & Knowledge

* Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
* Able to work without supervision.
* Competent in the use of IT such as Microsoft Office.
* Evidence of CPD.
* Knowledge of national health and social care policy.
