We are building our Mechanical Engineering team in our Glasgow office and looking for a driven and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will support with the delivery and project management of the Electrical Services Design on assigned projects, whilst taking the lead providing M&E representation. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Electrical Services design and post contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow whilst supporting junior engineers and assisting with their personal development.
You will have strong technical and communication skills and be confident in representing Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members.
Other key responsibilities include:
1. Developing electrical services strategies
2. Preparing scheme design drawings (from concept right through to detailed design)
3. Preparing outline M&E specification in BCIS format including environmental strategies
4. Where appropriate, inputting to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports
5. Assisting in the preparation of BCIS elemental M&E cost plans
6. Understanding and working within the commercial framework for projects
7. Preparing and delivering project presentations to client teams
8. Preparing electrical services scheme design proposals
9. Taking responsibility for delivery of electrical services detail design
10. Planning and programming electrical detailed design processes
11. Supervising and planning workloads for Assistant and Apprentice Engineers on projects you are responsible for
12. Ensuring that electrical services detailed outputs meet quality requirements
13. Ensuring project delivery meets deadlines and Client’s brief
14. Monitoring electrical Installation works against Electrical Services Design
About you:
1. Degree qualified and ideally working towards chartered status
2. Be able to demonstrate proven project experience
3. Strong record in project management, delivery, and quality
4. People skills and demonstrable management and client-facing skills
5. Capable of working with own initiative to provide solutions to engineering and management challenges
6. Hold a valid UK Driving Licence (preferable)
7. Be prepared to travel to meetings and projects, as necessary. Generally local to contracted office, but occasional work in other parts of UK and Europe or overseas that may necessitate an overnight stay
8. Ideally with experience Expert in the use of all necessary design software not limited to those identified below: CAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Hevacomp
