Mechanical Fitter
Location: Gloucester
Employment Type: Full time Permanent Dayshift
Key Responsibilities
The role is to ensure assemblies are manufactured correctly to specification and on time.
1. Fit and assemble machine parts accurately to engineering drawings.
2. Accurately fit sub-assembly parts using engineering drawings.
3. Use hand tools and power tools to fit and assemble components.
4. Safely use pillar drills, deburring tools, and grinding wheels where necessary.
5. Utilize engineering measuring equipment to ensure components are to specification.
6. Drill and tap components when necessary.
7. Ensure all torque requirements are met and marked as per procedure.
8. Fit/pipe pneumatic and water circuits using either copper or plastic pipe work.
9. Strip/prepare machines and tooling for painting and dispatch.
10. Install machines at customer sites as necessary overseas.
11. Adhere to safe systems of work and report any issues immediately to management.
12. Maintain and store all tools and equipment safely.
13. Report all non-conforming parts or design issues in a timely manner using NCR/ECR forms.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Mechanical Apprenticeship.
2. Proven ability to read and understand technical engineering drawings and specifications.
3. Ability to read pneumatics drawings is advantageous.
4. Flexibility to travel abroad to customers if required.
5. Proven effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Basic computer literacy.
