SEN Teacher - SLD needs \n\nLocation: Leeds - LS7 \nContract Type: Full-time - \nDaily rate: GBP140 - GBP210 \n \nKS3 SLD students who you will be responsible for. \n\nThe Role: \nAs an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating tailored learning experiences for students with Severe Learning Difficulties, this class will only have 12 students in. You will work closely with other staff members, including teaching assistants and external specialists, to create an individualized learning plan that meets the needs of each student.
\n\nKey Responsibilities: \n \nProvide high-quality teaching to students with Special Educational Needs. \nDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. \nAssess students' progress and adapt teaching strategies to ensure effective learning.
\nWork closely with the SENCo and other colleagues to support the inclusion of SEN students in mainstream education. \nFoster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. \nLiaise with parents and carers to discuss student progress and provide support strategies.
\nContribute to the development of the school's SEN policy and initiatives. \n\nEssential Qualifications and Experience: \n \nQualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. \nExperience teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
\nStrong understanding of a wide range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities. \nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families. \nA patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching.
\nStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload of students. \n\nDesirable Skills and Experience: \n \nPostgraduate qualifications in SEN, such as a SENCo qualification or Autism Education. \nExperience of working in an SEN setting or school with a diverse range of special needs.
