We currently have an opportunity for a Support Worker (Health Needs) to join our team in Port Tennant, Swansea, where we support 4 wonderful individuals with learning disabilities. All individuals we support have a car to support their independence so it's essential that you have a full UK driving License, however you do not need to own your own car. The location is easily accessible by public transport and if you do wish to drive to your shift, there is parking available. The individuals that you would be supporting have complex needs and therefore previous care experience is required. The people we support enjoy day trips, local walks, beach walks and meals out. What is the role? You will be involved in all aspects of day-to-day support for our client, including; Administering medication Meal preparation Laundry and cleaning Accompanying them on shopping trips Supporting to maintain relationships with friends and family Accompanying to swimming, cinema and days out Being an advocate Personal care Manual handling What skills and experience do you need? A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. Due to the needs of the individuals in this service this is a female only role Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, a full UK manual driving licence is required What are the shift patterns, pay and benefits? There are various permanent, part time positions available. You will be required to work a variety of shifts including Mornings, Afternoons and at least one wakeful night in a 2 week period. The successful candidate will receive a fortnightly rota and every other weekend off. An hourly rate of £12.23 “Wakeful night” rate which includes a 20% uplift between the hours of 2300 and 0800.
