The Opportunity Join Wight Building Materials, a Joint Venture of Aggregate Industries and Eurovia, on the Isle of Wight as a Mechanical Fitter, where you’ll be a crucial part of maintaining and optimising our site and equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, you’ll carry out reactive, corrective, and proactive maintenance to ensure our assets operate efficiently and effectively. Promote health and safety standards across all depot operations, ensuring compliance with company policies. Perform reactive and planned maintenance to maintain equipment capacity and value, contributing to the development of safe working methods. Address plant breakdowns promptly, ensuring temporary fixes are followed up with permanent solutions. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, keeping accurate records of all maintenance activities. Support and train operatives in inspection and maintenance tasks, ensuring plant availability through a structured PPM/PMR scheme. Who You Are You’re a dedicated and adaptable Mechanical Fitter with a strong background in plant maintenance and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Your technical expertise and ability to collaborate make you a key contributor to any maintenance team. Proven experience in reactive and planned maintenance within a production or industrial environment. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safe working methods. Reliable, flexible, and responsive to the demands of a dynamic work environment, with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with site management and operatives. Familiarity with maintaining up-to-date stores and identifying strategic spare parts to ensure continuous operations.
