To develop and deliver high-quality internal communications content to build engagement with Network Rail employees, that meets business objectives and is aligned with Network Rail’s internal communications strategy.
About the role (External)
Your Main Responsibilities will be to:
1. Develop and programme internal communications to production deadlines, with the appropriate tone, language, content and house-style so that colleagues remain informed and are able to understand business priorities.
2. Develop campaign materials using data and insight so that it is tailored to target audiences in order to increase employee engagement and understanding.
3. Develop standards, guides and best practice, working collaboratively with wider communications colleagues in order to deliver Network Rail’s internal communications strategy.
4. Apply project management processes to achieve goals, budgets, deliverables and metrics.
5. Monitor and report on the core internal communications channels to understand effectiveness and improve future communications.
6. Support and sustain training for colleagues on key channels (eg MyConnect/Yammer/Newzapp).
7. Manage content on MyConnect pages as appropriate so that the latest and most relevant information is available to colleagues.
8. Monitor employee use of Yammer in order to understand employee sentiment and reactions.
9. Contribute to maintaining the channels guidelines so that clear guidance is available to communication colleagues.
10. Work collaboratively with other communications colleagues to deliver 'joined-up' internal and external messages.
You will ideally have:
* Education to degree level or equivalent qualification or holds a professional qualification in communications or can demonstrate equivalent relevant experience.
* Proven experience in successfully shaping and delivering key messages to various audiences and meeting their individual needs.
* Ability to provide guidance on communication issues and develop strategies to support business objectives.
* Demonstrable excellent written communications skills.
* Ability to produce accurate and effective content quickly and to deadlines.
* Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Experience of Office 365 and SharePoint.
* Experience of writing content for a variety of communication channels (eg. intranet, video, Yammer).
* Relevant experience in internal communications.
* Sound knowledge of strategic corporate communications practices.
