As an APS 5 Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Officer, working in Explosive Materiel Branch (EMB) in the Department of Defence, you will be managing some of the most exciting and complex guided weapons and explosive ordnance products used by the Australian Defence Force.
Every day will be different as you embrace opportunities to:
1. Use your comprehensive administration and inventory management skills to provide integrated logistic support for a range of explosive ordnance items.
2. Exercise sound data analysis, initiative and judgment in applying appropriate practices and procedures to manage a fleet of inventory.
3. Prepare/provide input/present relevant data and briefs for a range of stakeholders.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are an integral aspect of ILS roles. You must be able to interpret data, build strong networks, communicate at all levels including engaging with outside organisations, and prepare and present information across a range of formats to achieve objectives. There may be some opportunities for domestic business travel associated with this position. We currently have a vacancy in the Land Explosive Ordnance System Program Office (LEOSPO) based on-site at Penrith NSW.
Note: This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country as well as country of birth during the recruitment process. Candidates may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material in accordance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

LEOSPO is an integral part of Explosive Materiel Branch, which is part of the new Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance Systems Division. Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are primarily located in Penrith, NSW & Canberra ACT and our focus is to acquire and sustain guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.
