Our client is a CQC-registered care home with nearly 30 years’ experience in providing care and support services for older people, people with a mental health need and people with a learning disability. Role The Clinical Lead will oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical care within the care home, ensuring compliance with CQC standards and best practices. This role requires a Registered Nurse with leadership experience, a strong clinical background, and the ability to mentor and train staff, including supporting new nurses with OSCE preparation. Location: Aylesbury Salary: £50- 55,000 Key Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the care team, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for residents Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, NMC guidelines, and company policies Act as a role model for best practices in clinical care and professionalism. Staff Training and Development: Mentor and train new and existing staff, including Registered Nurses and Care Assistants Support newly hired overseas nurses in preparing for the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) Conduct regular training sessions on clinical skills, medication management, and care planning Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Resident Care: Ensure person-centered care is delivered to all residents, respecting their dignity and individuality Monitor and review care plans regularly, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect residents' need Liaise with GPs, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits of clinical practices and documentation to ensure compliance with standards Implement improvements based on audit findings and feedback from residents and families. Investigate and manage incidents, complaints, or concerns related to clinical care Team Management: Supervise and support the clinical team, including performance management and appraisals Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage rotas effective Foster a positive and collaborative working environment. Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC PIN Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a UK care home setting Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a care home Experience in training and mentoring staff, particularly supporting new nurses with OSCE preparation Strong knowledge of CQC standards, NMC guidelines, and clinical best practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Desirable Skills: Experience in dementia care or other specialized care areas. Additional qualifications in leadership, management, or training (e.g., NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care) Familiarity with electronic care planning systems
