Role Description
Role Description
Reports to the Systems & Test Lead – to be allocated to subsystem leads as required. A proportion of the Systems & Test Lead activity will be funded from within this group. The remainder will be from System Engineering.
The System & Test Lead will be responsible for coordination of the test activities and attendance at Authority reviews and working groups.
A pool of highly competent integration engineers able to undertake activities in build and configuration of equipment and software, integration plans, test scripts and reports, conduct of integration test.
This team will include a Rig Manager responsible for asset management, security configuration control, maintenance, configuration and repair of the reference equipment and development environment. They are also responsible for ensuring the safe usage of the equipment.
Key activities
Integrate examples of the Components, plus any other GFx to be used, into a fully operational system. Integration to be undertaken in accordance with all design package outputs which comprise the TRINITY Design Blueprint.
The design, development, building and validation of all networking components which form part of the Platform.
Production and review of all levels of design artefacts.
Supporting wider system testing activities.
Creation and maintenance of all integration plans and test scripts
Generation of images for network equipment
Preparation and conduct of Proof of Concept testing
Product evaluation
Maintenance and repair of the reference and development equipment
Skills required
It is not expected that any one individual will be able to undertake all the activities listed above. Skills and specialism depend on the activity. For each role, extensive experience within the applicable domain will be required.
Specialism will required be required at varying points during the programme – RF, network configuration, platform installation, software integration, hardware integration
Competence in the following will be required:
7. Systems engineering lifecycles;
8. Communications technologies, such as IP networking, VOIP, Point-to-Point radio links, 4G/5G/6G mobile technologies, network security, network management;
9. Windows and Linux operating systems, including Virtualisation;
10. Design, development and delivery of Plans, Processes, Products, Systems and Services;
11. Strong communication and inter-personal skills;
12. Professionalism, commitment and continual learning;
In addition, an understanding of:
13. MoD or Industry IT projects and programmes;
14. Commercial or military networks, enterprise level designs;
15. Information Assurance (IA) and product security;
16. Security architectures, COTS integration and virtualisation;
17. Current and emerging technologies and roadmaps;
