Position: Accessibility Application Agent - Volunteer Supervisor: Manager, Housing & Financial Stability Programs Commitment: 4-6 hours per week (flexible); 1 year RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Manager, Housing & Financial Stability Programs and in accordance with HUD guidelines and agency policy, the incumbent shall: Field incoming calls and emails from potential applicants seeking to apply for the accessibility grant. Explain the home modification grant opportunity, eligibility, and process to inquirers. Meet with applicants to obtain required application documents and photos of modification areas; traveling to applicants’ homes may be required. Communicate with chosen contractors to explain the required credentials, documentation, compliance, and timelines. Prepare and submit grant applications within Virginia Housing’s Grants Management System; training provided. Communicate grant status with applicants and check in regularly to evaluate the status of modification work being completed in comparison to timeline. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Other duties as assigned. Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to be detail-oriented, plan, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to deliver quality customer service and communicate appropriate resource information to applicants. Strong technology and administrative skills. Ability to understand and use VH Grant Management System; training provided. Willingness to work from home, when applicable. Ability to engage with clients served and maintain appropriate boundaries. Experience with demonstrating orientation to problem-solving. Demonstrates self-confidence in their decision making and has strong work ethic. QUALIFICATIONS: Must maintain reliable transportation to and from work, including off-site events. Must have and maintain a working cell phone. Strong computer skills and demonstrated working knowledge of the primary Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required. Must have a valid driver’s license and meet background check requirements.
