Branch Overview
The Planning Manager will be the planning interface with project planners to ensure the key milestones; critical dates and interdependencies are captured, agreed and delivered into the Integrated Plan.
The role will work with a range of Stakeholders, including Planning and Risk Managers, to identify risks, potential mitigations and opportunities. They generate schedules and succinct reports which support informed decision making and adds clarity and value to the Programme.
Tasks
Act as the capability customer and interface for integrated planning and risk activities.
Analyse integrated plans and risks from a capability perspective. Challenge discrepancies, risks, and issues, and assist in developing opportunities and mitigation actions.
Work collaboratively with planning leads to carry out integrated planning reviews, ensuring schedules and plans are robust, accurate, and realistic.
Engage with planning and risk stakeholders to understand the impact of activities on overall plans. Provide feedback to planners on how integrated plans are affected.
Support the identification of risks and opportunities, including assisting in the development of mitigation plans.
Work collaboratively with risk leads to carry out risk reviews, ensuring risks are accurately captured without duplication.
Track and report on the status of mitigation actions to ensure they are being effectively managed.
Submit accurate plans for inclusion in the base integrated plan by agreed deadlines.
Support the team by developing plans and providing progress reports to the delivery sponsor.
Lead activities required to meet objectives.
Act as the interface with internal and external stakeholders, representing the organisation at relevant meetings and working groups to progress planning and risk activities.
Correspond with other departments, government organisations, private sector companies, consultants, or contractors as required.
Provide progress reports and updates to relevant meetings and stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience
