Working in a team of four, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective supervision of the Grounds Maintenance/Cleaner Communities teams operating within West Lothian by ensuring that resources are used effectively and that all works are programmed and planned to maximise the performance of the frontline operatives.
The post holder is responsible for organizing and coordinating effective and efficient frontline services for all areas in which grounds maintenance/cleaner communities’ teams operate. Where necessary, the post holder will be directly involved with the performance of a wide range of grounds maintenance/cleaner communities functions including responsibility for garden maintenance, sports pitch maintenance, grass cutting, weed killing, street cleansing, and wider general amenity issues.
Candidates should have some experience of supervising a large workforce to deliver a high-quality service.
The post reports to the Grounds Maintenance Manager.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should possess as a minimum:
1. SVQ Level 3 in Horticulture, Environmental or related subject; or be able to evidence equivalent experience.
2. Ability to contribute to strategic direction and implementation.
3. Experience of dealing with the public.
4. Proven organisational skills and experience.
5. Up to date knowledge of applicable computer packages.
