This project engineering role will be initially responsible for the definition and feasibility of a number of Interior /exterior/ Functional components leading into the full development, testing and release of these components destined for a new model in a fascinating sector.We are looking for someone who is prepared to fully own their commodities and deliver them into the programme at pace and to a high quality in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities:Responsible for establishing, planning and running meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areasInitially establishing feasibility for a number of features outlined in the initial project scope with your team then being responsible for the full design, delivery and release of your exterior commoditiesCompiling engineering development/commodity timing plans for each componentCommunicating delivery progress to the EES Project Lead on a regular basisEnsuring that the challenging programme timing objectives are metIdentifying all risks to the programme and propose mitigation measuresFollow on project - ensure vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required levelEnsuring that issues are addressed and closed off at each key gateway of the projectEssential experience:Mechanical and Interior, Exterior, Functional & accessory experience requiredExperience of:Product feasibilityRequirements definitionSystem(s) designDefining functional performanceSystem testingDesigning for productionDesigning for manufacturing assembly Proven project engineering capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.Previous delivery of interior, exterior, functional accessory components using a number of project delivery processes such as PCDS/ PPAP / eAPQP, AIMS / WERS / iCREATE or similarSupplier managementDesirable experience:Parts design and releaseHaving previously delivered new or modified exterior systems for large OEM productionFEA AnalysisSix Sigma Green/Black Belt QualifiedWorking knowledge of change management processesWorking knowledge of RMDV requirements and test databaseExperience of delivering accessory commodities including exterior, interior/exterior protection Skills:CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.Ability to generate CAD data Catia v5/6.Experience of JIRA toolset and AGILE methodologiesExcellent communications skillsDemonstrated ability to communicate at all levelsExperience in use of engineering tools FMEA, problem resolution etc 8D.Experienced with Microsoft Tool – Word, Excel, PowerPointSelf motivatedEducation:Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering.
