Project Management Responsibilities Product Development & Project Execution Oversee end-to-end product development for kitchen and bathroom appliances, from concept to production managing timelines and budgets. Work closely with R&D, design, engineering, and marketing teams to align projects with business goals. Budget Management Develop cost estimates for design, prototyping, and manufacturing negotiating with suppliers for the cost effective solutions. Manage external contractors for tooling, testing, and production. Risk & Compliance Ensure all appliances comply with UK/EU regulations, including: UKCA & CE Marking, WRAS (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme) for water-related appliances and BS/EN electrical and safety standards Conduct risk assessments for product safety, durability, and user experience. Quality Control Oversee product testing (waterproofing, heat resistance, energy efficiency, durability). Ensure products meet ISO 9001, RoHS, and eco-design directives. Manage final documentation and handover from R&D to production and sales teams. CAD & Product Design Responsibilities Create, modify, and review 2D and 3D CAD models for kitchen and bathroom appliances. Work on technical drawings for components such as sinks, taps, hobs, ovens, extractor fans, dishwashers, showers, bathtubs, and smart fixtures. Support prototyping using 3D printing, CNC machining, or injection molding. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) & Engineering Collaboration Ensure energy efficiency, water conservation, and ease of maintenance in designs. Software Proficiency Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX for 3D modeling and technical drawings. Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress testing. Familiar with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software for documentation. Manufacturing & Supplier Coordination Material Selection & Sustainability Choose materials based on heat resistance, corrosion resistance, durability, and aesthetics. Ensure compliance with WRAS for water appliances, RoHS for electrical components, and eco-friendly materials. Work with sustainable materials (e.g., recycled plastics, low-energy components, water-saving technologies). Collaborate with overseas manufacturers for tooling and mass production. Review and approve molds, tooling, and first production samples. Conduct factory visits and quality inspections. Compliance Product Testing & Certifications Manage appliance testing for electrical safety, water pressure, temperature resistance, and durability. Work with third-party labs for CE, UKCA, and WRAS certifications. Maintain regulatory documentation for audits and legal compliance. Team Leadership & Innovation Cross-Functional Team Management Lead designers, engineers, and production teams to meet project deadlines. Assign tasks, manage workloads, and oversee product development milestones. Mentor junior CAD designers and engineers. Market Research & Innovation Analyze competitor products and market demand to guide new product development. Work with R&D to integrate smart home and IoT capabilities where relevant ✅ Experience: 5 years in product design, project management, or engineering, ideally in kitchen and bathroom appliances. ✅ Key Skills: Understanding of UK compliance regulations (WRAS, CE/UKCA, RoHS, BS EN safety standards, energy efficiency ratings). Project Management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) is a plus Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field
