They have a new role within their team for an Infrastructure Engineer / Analyst with a strong Networking background. About the role:
The Network Engineer/Analyst role will be office-based in their Holywell office (few days home working allowed), working as part of a small team to provide effective solutions to escalated technical issues and a high level of technical expertise to the business. You will provide new technical solutions (both strategic and tactical), ensuring effective working across the full range of services provided by the business, and liaise with 3rd party suppliers and external contractors.
The role will involve working with technologies such as Network Routing, Switching, Firewalls, DNS, DHCP, LAN, VLANs, AWS, SD-WAN, and Meraki.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support of multi-site technical environments including LAN, WAN, Microsoft, Network Security.
2. Take ownership of escalated issues as 3rd line support and resolve any queries within SLA.
3. Resolution of configuration and deployment issues, ensuring management of core IT Infrastructure operations through system monitoring and maintenance.
4. Ensure that the network and all systems are operational and appropriate BGP / VRRP protocols are regularly tested.
5. Monitor, maintain and upgrade SD-WAN and LAN.
6. Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other departmental members, suppliers, consultancy partners, and third parties.
7. Handle hardware issues and networking - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, and routers.
8. Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, etc., and advise on best practices.
9. Make recommendations to improve network performance, capacity, and reliability.
Essential Technical Skills:
Candidates must have some exposure to most of the technologies listed below:
* LAN/WAN, AD, DNS + DHCP, VPNs
* Network Security Technologies (Proxy/Content Filtering/IPS/IDS)
* Meraki - some level of understanding
* Exposure to SD-WAN and LANs will be preferable
* Documentation
* Protocol Analysis and routing protocols
* Networking - TCP/IP, Switches, routers, Wireless Networks
* Hardware support and configuration and an interest in AWS

Candidates will have a strong customer service ethos and a passion for resolving queries to a high standard within SLAs. Candidates will have a broad technical skillset and be keen to learn new technologies, including working with Azure/AWS. The Network Infrastructure Engineer role offers the chance to work with a broad set of technologies besides Networking, Routing & Switches, and some training will be given in other areas.
The role will be based out of their Holywell office, but also allow a couple of days home working; candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance to the office.
