KMPT Medical Education are recruiting a Leadership Fellow -
Trust Grade ST4-ST7 Trainee Doctor
A full-time post (40 Hours) is available, however the role is available part-time 3 days per week depending on the successful candidate's preference. The post is a 12-month fixed term Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) from 06/08/2025 to 04/08/2026.
The post holder will be expected to attend various locations in Kent for meetings, teaching sessions and events but the base of the post can be flexible to suit the appointed candidate.
The focus of this Higher Specialty Resident Doctor level fellowship post is to improve the local education and experience of the medical workforce by supporting the Director of Medical Education with Leadership Projects relating to Mental Health Education and Training, particularly for core trainees.
The role also has a key focus on developing the postholder's own leadership and education capability. This will be achieved through the work-based project(s) and a bespoke development programme including the Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning at BSMS. This will be achieved through 0.6 full-time equivalent from this posting.
Main duties of the job
1. To identify and scope project(s) work to deliver benefits in an agreed area based on investigation and diagnosis of need in collaboration with key stakeholders.
2. To provide leadership to the project(s) including: initiating, delivering, coordinating, communicating, engaging stakeholders, monitoring and reporting on progress.
3. To provide support and leadership to colleagues involved in the project work.
4. To lead, co-ordinate and participate in relevant meetings related to the project(s) and other agreed elements of the role.

Job responsibilities
This post is part of the KSS Deanery BSMS Leadership and Education Fellowship (LEF) Programme and is jointly funded by NHS England working across Kent, Surrey and Sussex (KSS Deanery), Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
JOB PURPOSE:
The focus of this Higher Specialty Resident Doctor level fellowship post is to improve the local education and experience of the medical workforce by supporting the Director of Medical Education with Leadership Projects relating to Mental Health Education and Training, particularly for core trainees. The post holder will carry out a range of leadership and education tasks and take the lead on project(s) as agreed with the local sponsor to achieve this.
The role also has a key focus on developing the postholders own leadership and education capability. This will be achieved through the work-based project(s) and a bespoke development programme including the Post Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning at BSMS. This will be achieved through 0.6 full-time equivalent from this posting.
The role includes a clinical component to enable the postholder to maintain and develop their clinical skills.

* Sound basic clinical skills
* Competent in management of emergencies
* Computer literacy and keyboard skills
* Experience in delivery of teaching and education.
* Project management skills - experience of participating in or leading projects
* Full GMC Registration with Licence to practise
* Experience of setting up courses. Faculty on local or national courses
* Experience of Quality Improvement project
