About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Internal Auditor to join the team. Reporting to an Audit and Risk Manager, the position is essential to maintaining the provision of the Service’s high performing professional delivery of internal audit whilst working in a dynamic and challenging environment.
You will have responsibility for managing a small team to deliver an element of the Audit Plan and will be required to provide professional advice and relevant, accurate and timely information to support delivery of the Service’s functions, and provide positive leadership, clear direction, training and support to team members to ensure high levels of performance.
The Internal Audit team within the Resources and Digital Group operates at the core of the Council's financial and governance operations. The team is focused on the delivery of an audit plan that gives assurance across the whole organisation that controls are operating properly, risks are well managed and effective governance arrangements are in place, in a dynamic and challenging environment.
You should hold an AAT / Certified IIA qualification or equivalent with relevant post qualification experience, or CCAB / Chartered IIA qualification or equivalent. You should also have knowledge of the Local Government financial environment, Internal Audit and Risk
