As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for organisation-wide accounting and reporting, including budgeting and forecasting. You will make key business decisions for new initiatives whilst overseeing general accounting for income and expenditure including cash management.
Other responsibilities include:
1. Fixed assets and capital accounting.
2. Costing of investigations and activities.
3. Balance sheet reconciliations.
4. Assist in the preparation of statutory financial accounts.
5. Assist in the development and delivery of an effective framework of financial accountability that is clearly understood and applied throughout the organisation.
6. Analyse issues affecting business decision support and financial reporting and control and communicate solutions, options, and advice.
7. Supporting the Senior Accountant in financial matters and system development as necessary.
8. Any ad hoc projects as allocated by the Senior Accountant.
In carrying out the above duties, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring that:
1. Procedures and controls are applied in accordance with the Finance Manual.
2. Performance targets are met including those for business decision support and financial reporting.
3. Services are provided in accordance with the customer service standards of the corporate services directorate.
This post is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend or become permanent. It pays a salary just north of £40k, with a market-leading pension plan.
