Why we want you
Our shops play a key role in our work. By volunteering, your contribution has an impact far into the future. Last year, our shops raised millions in helping those who need it the most – we couldn’t do this without our volunteers and we need your help! As a Retail Assistant, you can take on a variety of roles according to your level of confidence, experience, and area of interest.
What you will be doing
1. Stock sorting: assisting in the sorting, preparation, and presentation of goods donated for sale
2. Researching: looking up items on the internet to identify them and set a suitable price
3. Steaming: using the steaming process to help prepare donated clothes and fabric items for sale on the shop floor
4. Customer service: being friendly and helpful to customers in order to increase sales
5. Till-operating: serving and assisting customers, taking payment for goods and entering transactions into the cash register
6. Housekeeping on the shop floor and in the stock room
The skills you need
1. An interest in the shop, and an enthusiasm for raising money through its work
2. The ability to work as part of a team and get on with other volunteers in the shop
3. Be able to provide a friendly, high-quality service to customers
4. A willingness to help with a range of tasks in the shop, and to undertake tasks as requested
5. Reliability and Punctuality

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays - front and back of house
