A new position has arisen for a Financial Accountant to join the Energy Division Financial Control team. You will work alongside the Financial Controller to help deliver and improve financial reporting and statutory returns to the M Group team and internal controls within the finance division. With a focus on volume and accuracy, you will help to keep the accounts in order whilst assisting with accurate reporting and insight. This role is quality focused, a high standard of work is essential coupled with a continuous improvement mindset. Our people present a passion for delivering on time with effective outcomes.

What you'll be doing:
\n
\n
* Support the day to day and monthly accounting cycles, including reporting and forecasting of the financial performance for central overhead areas.
\n
* Support on monthly M Group returns including WIP, Cash and management accounts.
\n
* Preparation of Quarterly VAT Returns
\n
* Support on Year End Audit and Corp tax information.
\n
* Preparation of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts including concise clear commentary on variances
\n
* Intercompany reconciliations
\n
* Fixed Asset control and reporting
\n
* Support the review of compliance and help improve and document internal controls.
\n
* Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations monthly, ensuring good housekeeping practices through the development of action plans.
\n
* Review and improve procedures
\n
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities including rolling forecasts.
\n
* Build key relationships within Energy Division and the wider M Group team.
\n
* Other ad-hoc projects as required.
\n
* Play a vital part in the future Finance Team development strategy and great place to work initiatives.
\n

\n
What we need from you:
\n
\n
* Full or Newly Qualified Accountant ACCA/FCA/CIMA
\n
* Experience in a similar Financial Accountant role
\n
* Employ an analytical mindset with high attention to detail and a passion for accuracy
\n
* Network and present with excellent communication skills
\n
* A strong working knowledge of Excel is essential
\n
* Knowledge of Oracle is desirable
\n
* Work smart, with the capability to work quickly and efficiently
\n
* Ability to work to timescales and under pressure
\n
* Team effort approach, flexible attitude towards tasks and working
\n
* You must be able to pass our screening and vetting standards, provide up to 5 years employment history and pass a DBS check
\n
