The Pre-assessment unit is a very busy unit responsible for assessing all elective patients prior to surgery.
As an assistant practitioner, you will be working alongside the registered nurses to provide an excellent standard of care for our patients. The staff member will work with a very well established and friendly team, and the role is a very rewarding role.
Main duties of the job
The assistant practitioner plays a vital role within the unit. The role is to work alongside and support the registered practitioner to ensure all surgical patients are assessed and fit for their planned surgery date.
The role includes carrying out follow-up clinics, contacting and triaging patients, and general clinical duties.

Person Specification
Experience
* Substantial experience working in a health care setting.
* Up to date with Mandatory Training.
* Able to work full time for the duration of the training program.
* In around 100 words, please describe what Equality & Diversity means to you and why they are important.
Qualifications
* Applicants must be 19 years of age (Education Centre Requirement).
* Completed Care Certificate or commitment to complete prior to training.
* Functional Skills level 2 Maths and English GCSE Grade 3 Maths and English.
* Evidence of completion of health care course or other professional development.
Skills and Abilities
* Basic ICT skills.
* Demonstrates effective communication skills and the ability to utilise different skills to overcome barriers.
* Ability to follow protocols and pathways.
