We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to assist our small friendly team in providing services to this group of patients throughout Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The post offers the opportunity to be a member of the Dietetic Paediatric primary care team and will work across the health care community, including GP surgeries, nurseries and schools and provide support to the Dietitians in managing patient s care plans. The post holder will have their own caseload of patients to support and monitor with Dietetic support. The post holder will be involved in a variety of duties, both office-based, in patients homes and other settings. The role has a strong focus on patient contact, monitoring, and delivery of training for both individuals and groups. You will work both alongside of Dietitians and independently with support from the Dietitians working in the service, and administrative staff. You will need excellent team-working, communication, organisational and IT skills, along with a passion for working with children, young people and their families, carers and other professionals to provide high quality care. Previous experience of working with children in a caring, healthcare-related field is needed for this post. Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service (Community) has a team of approximately 80 staff, made of Dietitians, Community Nutritionists, Dietetic Support Workers and Support Team Staff covering the population of Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland. The service is committed to CPD and personal development and we have good clinical supervision models and in-house CPD in place to support you. The service is involved in the pre-registration placements for student dietitians undertaking A, B and C placements and the post holder will be expected to participate in this. A large amount of travel is required between different locations so applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car during working hours.
