About Our Client
Our client is a 13-19 Mainstream School based in Darwen, Lancashire. They opened in brand new buildings in September 2012 and over the last two years have grown from year groups of 150 to 240 and anticipate that within the next three years they will be a full school of over 1,200 students.
Due to internal growth, they are seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Head of Year.
About the role
The aim of the role is to support the senior leadership team and staff in implementing a vision for excellence by providing a level of service to all stakeholders based on high standards. Cultivating leadership in others so that students and colleagues assume their parts in realising the school vision and provide a level of service which enables teachers to teach and students to learn. Whilst providing a high standard of pastoral care and support to students and their families.
Essential Criteria
1. Degree or equivalent qualification.
2. Experience of working in a school environment.
3. Effective behaviour management skills.
4. ‘Warm firm’, equitable approach that hears the views of all and maintains the standard of excellence.
5. Excellent communication skills: accurate, concise, warm, coherent and clear.
6. Experience of working with students with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs.
