Data Governance Analyst | Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite) | Salary: £35,000 – £40,000
The Opportunity

As part of their continued investment in data and insight, they are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the development and implementation of best-in-class data governance & data quality practices. Key Responsibilities
* Support the rollout and maintenance of the organisation’s data governance framework.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership, data quality rules, and stewardship responsibilities.
* Monitor and resolve data quality issues across systems, promoting consistency and integrity.
* Maintain metadata repositories, data dictionaries, and documentation of data flows.
* Contribute to data privacy and compliance initiatives, including GDPR.
* Support the delivery of data literacy programmes and promote good data practices across departments.
* Report on data governance KPIs and support continuous improvement efforts.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in a data governance, data management, or data quality-focused role.
* Strong understanding of data governance principles, frameworks, and data lifecycle management.
* Strong communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
* Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Skills
* Knowledge of GDPR or other data protection regulations.
* Proficiency in SQL and/or data analysis tools such as Power BI or Excel.
* Exposure to public sector data or working within regulated environments.
* Awareness of industry frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK.
