Role Summary
The Asset Management function is a highly specialised engineering services and equipment provider, supporting customers to minimise cost, maximise return and mitigate risk through their asset integrity lifecycle.
We are recruiting exceptional candidates to join our mission in becoming a fully certified Asset Management engineering services provider of both consultancy and integrated projects, across future global low carbon energy and infrastructure markets.
The Plant Performance and Operations team within our Asset Management business area provides support services to the Nuclear & Defence, Process & Energy, Power Generation and Oil & Gas sectors across their whole asset lifecycle.
Within this team we have an opening for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to undertake the electrical site commissioning on a hydrogen generation project.
The role reports into the Lead Electrical Commissioning Engineer and/or Site Commissioning Manager. The Electrical Commissioning Engineer, working as part of a multi-disciplined team, would be responsible for the following electrical activities as part of the commissioning execution:
1. Prepare internal and review vendor electrical commissioning and test procedures.
2. Read & interpret applicable technical information, including drawings, schematics, P&IDs, procedures, manuals, codes, and specifications.
3. Support as required Factory and Site Acceptance Tests.
4. Conduct detailed equipment, subsystem, Mechanical Completion walk-downs.
5. Carry out commissioning and testing activities in line with written commissioning procedures.
6. Commissioning activities undertaken in accordance with the commissioning programme.
7. Ensure all commissioning dossiers are maintained with up-to-date check sheets and commissioning records.
8. Identify, record, and rectify faults.
9. Manage and witness vendor activities.
Requirements
The candidate should ideally have a HNC in Electrical Engineering or significant and relevant time-served electrical commissioning experience with a background in the energy, process or hydrocarbon industry. The position requires experience and an in-depth knowledge of HV switching, Electrical safety rules, and High & Low Voltage isolations. Certification as a High Voltage Senior Authorised person would be a strong preference. Experience in the electrical commissioning of the following equipment and systems is required:
1. Electrical tariff metering
2. 11kV / 400V switchgear and distribution boards
3. 11kV / 400V Transformers
4. Power quality conditioning
5. UPS systems
6. Large variable speed drives
7. Electric motors
8. Standby diesel generators
9. Electric heat tracing
