Production Manager
An excellent opportunity has arisen with our Ipswich based manufacturing client for an experienced Production Manager. The successful applicant will oversee and optimise this manufacturing operation, ensuring efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement across all production processes. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our operations, meeting production targets, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a background in manufacturing and engineering, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management:
* Oversee the daily operations of the plant, including production planning, scheduling, and execution, working to targets and deadlines.
* Oversee the planning of all Customer service requirements.
* Implement and monitor KPIs to assess and improve operational efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
Leadership & Team Development:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of leaders, fitters, and production staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training needs, and support continuous professional development.
Process Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and waste minimisation.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
* Ensure that all operations adhere to the company’s quality standards and comply with industry regulations.
* Responsible for the H&S of the Company as a whole
* Writing the internal risk assessments for different machinery etc. and completing all RAMS for our Service Engineers when on site.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
* Manage relationships with subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and components.
Strategic Planning:
* Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic objectives along with developing and managing the budget in alignment with financial goals.
Key Qualifications & Experience
* Ideal applicant will have minimum of 4-5 years within an engineering manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record of successfully managing and optimising manufacturing operations.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
* Good Health & Safety Management experience.
