Planner - Highway & Infrastructure Projects - Ipswich
[Company Name], a leading civil engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Planner to join our team in Ipswich. We are looking for an individual with a passion for efficient project delivery and a proven track record of success in the highway and infrastructure sectors.
What You'll Do:
Develop Comprehensive Project Plans: Create detailed project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution.
Optimize Scheduling and Sequencing: Develop and maintain project schedules, considering resource availability, dependencies, and potential delays, to ensure projects stay on track and within budget.
Resource Management: Coordinate and manage the allocation of resources, including labor, plant, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project delivery.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor their effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and prepare regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, potential issues, and recommendations.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve planning processes, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, optimize resource utilization, and reduce costs.
What We Need:
Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Planner in Civil sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of project planning methodologies and best practices.
National Grid Expertise: Experience working with National Grid would be a significant advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using planning software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Specialized Knowledge: Experience with TP193 or SR193, TILOS planning software, and Power BI would be highly beneficial.
Strong Foundation: Experience in civil works and/or construction projects.
Essential Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
