About the Role The Grocery Controller is directly responsible for the management of one of the GB sales channels. The GC develops the strategic plan for their channel, sets the future vision for the route to market and identifies opportunities to unlock more penetration. The GC is responsible for delivering the sales plan, being accountable to drive growth in the channel by driving the key commercial levers like JBP and NRM. As part of the yearly RGM cycle, the GC will support optimizing the key drivers in the out execute box. The GC is a critical member of the sales leadership team and wider commercial leadership group with in GB. You'll manage a hybrid working team and will need to create followership to ensure we drive engagement of the team to go beyond and focus on what matters most. The GC drives the development of the team by upgrading capabilities of the team to set the right JBPs, negotiating the right pricing, driving the NRM pillars and improving our digital omni channel performance. You'll need to be externally focused and bring the outside in. You'll spend a significant time building strong external relationships, driving engagement with our key partners to deliver projects that go beyond the daily work. The GC will nurture the external network, so Haleon will be seen as the single source for questions in growing in self care. You'll be accountable for defining the best route to market, and providing direction to the team in a way to provide our priority customers the best possible support while using the customer growth framework to allocate the resources in the right places. Finally, you'll play a pivotal role in the core commercial cycle to ensure the sales team delivers forecast accuracy, giving the organization the latest view on volume and value forecast. The GC has a key role in driving the cash flow position of the organization and ensures a close focus from the team on driving this. Key Responsibilities Grow consumption, share and penetration across GBI channels as per defined GBI sales strategy, and deliver GBI P&L (NS, GM & OP, Cash flow) by partnering across functions in market to develop and deploy the defined loc strategies. Key driver of governance process for GB within NE MPR, CCC, PMR and market visits. Develop the capabilities of the sales team and ensure teams has clear development plans Ensure in-year course correction action within strategic guidelines defined with the BU. Ensuring the business unlocks customer opportunities and has mitigation plans in case customer plans change Execute and deliver RGM cells for the key power brands with clear focus on out-execute. Responsible for development and implementation of JBPs including the NRM execution and delivery of our commercial growth framework. Improves our Advantage score position at the customers on critical levers like setting strategy and cooperation. Systematically reviews multiple data sources to track customer performance by channel/category and brand, proactively recommending course correction activities if required. Connecting the SiT with EPOS and customer plans to ensure the best bottom up volume forecast. Owns the CBP forecast for the team on a 12 month bases Focused on improving cash flow position of the company and delivering an optimized position as defined in the plan Support the Sales Director to build and lead the sales & business culture & mindset to drive a world class environment of Innovation and agility to seize opportunities/challenges to over deliver plans. Play an active role in the commercial leadership team supporting the performance and development of the business. Qualifications/Skills Significant sales, marketing and commercial experience. Digital and Data driven experience. Experience in leading high performance teams, building strong relationships, high learning and performance agility. Proven experience of Sales and leadership in the GB market. Proven sustained performance delivering brand growth and health in the GB market. Preferable already having a customer network Focused and pragmatic approach to problem solving, and drive to action in the face of adversity. Having experience to drive value via NRM and taking customers on the journey so we are able to deliver a sustainable growth agenda. Prior experience of strong negotiating, influencing and collaboration skills, problem solving and conflict management skills. Experience in driving responsiveness and course correction of strategy or plans based on competitive dynamics as well as P&L requirements to deliver targets.
