With a pleasant personality, tact and approachability, the post holder will lead the catering team (consisting of volunteers) to ensure the highest standards of service and presentation are offered at all times to customers. The Tea Room is an evolving community project and for the right person, there will be lots of opportunities to contribute to its growing success. \r Key Responsibilities: \r \r You will supervise and train a team of volunteers to run a community Tea Room. \r Plan and organise the day-to-day operation of the Tea Room ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and food safety in line with food safety standards. \r To be responsible for effective stock management taking into account portion control, staff rota, stock rotation and waste reduction. \r This role involves cash handling and till operation, which the supervisor will be expected to assist with and ensure that it is being completed in line with the processes in place. \r \r The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate: \r \r Proven experience of working in a catering or hospitality environment. \r Experience in maintaining stock in line with budgetary controls and using computer systems including credit card terminals. \r That they are a patient, compassionate person who sees the value of working as a team and is positive, enthusiastic and committed, with a flexible approach towards customers and other team members. \r \r We actively encourage all applicants to arrange a visit to the Tea Room to have a look around and to meet staff and volunteers.
