Quality Assurance Technician
Harrogate, up to £36,500, 4-day week
Excellent opportunity to join a food manufacturer in the Harrogate area. The role will include all aspects of ensuring food safety and managing customer complaints in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are open to considering a food Science graduate with placement experience for this role or a candidate with previous experience at this level.
The role of Quality Assurance Technician will include:
1. Maintaining the company's quality controls, procedures, standards, specifications & policies in line with HACCP, GMP, and BRC.
2. Training and guidance of production operatives to ensure adherence to SOPs.
3. Undertaking microbiological testing on finished products, raw materials, and packaging.
4. Maintaining and calibrating testing equipment.
5. Preparing samples and completing allergen testing.
6. Undertaking internal and supplier quality audits.
7. Ensuring that all suppliers continue to meet the quality requirements of the company.
8. Maintaining technical reports, quality documentation, and test results.
9. Contributing to the development and improvement of quality management systems.
10. Investigating customer complaints, non-conformance, and incidents of food contamination.
11. Undertaking root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
12. Assisting in product recalls if necessary and handling communication with regulatory authorities.
13. Implementing change and improvement in performance and quality.
Qualifications:
1. 2 years of experience in a quality assurance role.
2. Level 3 in Food Safety.
3. Knowledge of quality assurance principles, including HACCP, pre-requisites, GMP, auditing, traceability, and NCRs.
4. Strong analytical skills to evaluate data effectively.
5. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Quality Assurance Technician you will:
1. Ideally have worked within a QA role in the food industry or similar.
2. Hold Level 3 in Food Safety.
3. Have working knowledge of HACCP, pre-requisites, GMP, auditing, traceability, and NCRs.
4. Possess excellent communication and training skills.
5. Ideally hold Food Safety and HACCP certificates.
6. Demonstrate an ability to understand BRC Version 9 Global Standards Food Safety.
7. Own transport essential.
Working hours:
4 x 12 hours night shifts 6pm to 6am Monday-Thursday.
