The Learning Academy Partnership has an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our School Trust, based in Ellacombe C of E Academy.
Ellacombe is at the heart of our local community and is located close to the centre of Torquay; over the years we have developed a strong reputation for being a supportive and caring school which fully understands the needs of our children and their families. Our wonderful pupils are at the absolute centre of our work and all our colleagues are dedicated to the development of our pupils in the fullest sense possible; we pride ourselves on putting children first in every aspect of school life.
At Ellacombe, we aim to provide the rich soil that enables our children to develop deep roots and flourish. Our Christian vision as a school is “Together, we take steps towards a brighter future”. We are an extremely caring and inclusive school and we are proud of how we work together as part of a wider community through our close links with parents, families and within the Torquay Hub and wider Trust. Our curriculum is rich and balanced, providing a wide range of experiences and opportunities for all.
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support and nurture the needs of our children with Special Educational Needs who will be committed to making a profound difference to the lives of our most disadvantaged children. The role includes working as in-class support as well as supporting children with SEND in classes across the school from EYFS through to Year 6. Experience with autism, speech and language development and knowledge of phonics would also be an advantage, but not essential. This is an incredibly rewarding role where no day is ever the same! You will work alongside a highly passionate team to ensure children are cared for, inspired, and challenged.
Our Trust is dedicated to building an authentic workforce, so if you are excited about this role but your past experience looks a little different to what we’ve identified, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may just be the perfect candidate! We are looking for someone who is inspired by our Trust mission and can empower our children with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to flourish.
We encourage applications from people from all backgrounds and aim to have a workforce that represents the wider communities that we serve. We champion diversity, inclusion and wellbeing and aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and a sense of belonging. Our People strategy enables us to nurture, develop and support our colleagues so that they can provide the very best for our children.
Our School Trust is underpinned by our four core beliefs; we are stronger together, a sense of belonging; removing barriers and realising the possible. This means that by working collectively, we can achieve our absolute best to ensure that children, especially the most vulnerable, can flourish.
We can offer you:
1. The opportunity to make a profound difference to children’s lives
2. An impactful People Strategy that enables us to nurture, develop and support our colleagues so that they can provide the very best for our children
3. A culture that takes work-life balance extremely seriously for all its colleagues
4. The chance to work as part of a collective in a values-led school Trust, a single organisation.
5. High quality professional development and regular training to develop your knowledge and skills
6. A strong, proactive wellbeing network across the school Trust
7. The potential for future career development
8. Access to a 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme
9. Trust benefit schemes including Cycle and Tech schemes
10. Generous Local Government Pension Scheme
All our schools are each at the centre of their local communities and celebrate their individuality and distinctiveness. A core feature in how we work as a School Trust is our collective approach in delivering an exceptional education for all children. We do this through working very closely together in mutual support and challenge to empower excellence for our children, families, and the communities that we serve.
In short, our ethos is one of working together to Empower, Excel, Together .
