Assistant Technical Data Manager Lowestoft, Suffolk 12 Months Fixed-Term Contract Competitive salary, bonus and excellent benefits package This role is known for being part of the RDQ technical data team, contributing to the delivery of complete, compliant technical data (specification, BOMs etc). They work across all relevant technical data systems (including Interspec and SAP), contributing to the delivery of innovation projects as well as driving data compliance to external standards and review requirements. The role requires a broad working knowledge of all areas of RDQ technical data, including specifications and master data, but will typically focus on specific areas of expertise and responsibility. Responsibilities Specifications Ensure that all specifications are written to meet Nomad Foods Europe standards and have been signed by suppliers, where required, to protect the business from potential liability. Coordinate & conduct specification maintenance as required for BRC compliance or due to changes in Nomad requirements Ensure timely specification updates, and that technically accurate specifications are in place eg to support Procurement tender process. Report status of specification portfolio for SU sites and MU co-pack, and identify and resolve gaps Write and approve specifications, as required, to ensure that all data input into company systems is to the best of your knowledge correct and in accordance with company policy. Coordinate & conduct maintenance of specifications database by collating information & informing R&D colleagues of which specs can be removed/made historic & when. NPD support/SAP interface Support R&D input to project gate documents-awareness of key projects/ensure data complete for LP etc. Support project portfolio tracking and prioritisation. Raise codes/complete basic master data in SAP for new products/packs as required Plan, build and monitor new/existing product specification hierarchy and ensure completion; and provision of BoMs to SAP to enable production orders and purchasing. Approve codes and master data in SAP for new products/packs as required. Data Reporting Develop and maintain clear view on Technical Data portfolio completeness and compliance & identify necessary actions Proactive and timely communication of opportunities, progress, issues, risks, etc to R&D management and key stakeholders. Provide rapid & professional incident support by expert interrogation & extraction of specifications data Support provision of finished product data to customer systems. Data Systems Analyse data discrepancies to diagnose system faults and restore the interface between Interspec and SAP. Maintain Users, Access Groups, Work Flow Groups and Work Flows with Interspec. Audit as required. Support initiatives to implement improved Data management tools, adapt ways of working and improve efficiency. Training & Best Practice Ambassador for excellence in execution. Build R&D Data capability, within technical data team and across R&D, champion right-first-time approach to technical data Provide expert support & training re Nomad specifications and data management systems & processes to colleagues in R&D & users in other functions, directly & via Superusers. Encourage cross-fertilization of knowledge with colleagues in R&D. About you… We need someone who is motivated to deliver complete/compliant data and to manage their workload. Able to follow specific processes, whilst also being willing and able to chase colleagues and suppliers for information. They are recognised as experts in their specific area of responsibility and have a positive proactive approach to supporting and helping the wider RDQ team. They look for ways to improve processes and to drive insight and understanding from data. At least 2 years’ experience within the food/drink industry in a Technical/ Product Development role, including experience of managing data and writing specifications Attention to detail.
