Job Title – Shipping Administrator – Part time
Salary – £28-30k Dependant on Experience (Pro-Rata)
Location – Rugby
Hours – 25 – 30 hours – standard office hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm and 8.30am to 1.00pm on Friday
Purpose of the Shipping Administrator role:
The Recruitment Group is working with a laser manufacturer who are looking for a Shipping Administrator to join their team. Working in a small, collaborative team, the role of the Shipping & General Office Administrator will be to arrange and manage relevant customs documentation for UK/Worldwide shipments of laser systems and spare parts.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Shipping Administrator:
* Liaising with customers and suppliers to arrange UK and Worldwide shipments of lasers, spare parts, and components.
* Liaising with freight forwarders and couriers.
* Obtaining quotes from freight forwarders and couriers.
* Obtaining certified documentation where relevant.
* Dealing with customs queries.
* Import customs clearance instructions.
* Maintaining and understanding export and import records, obtaining C88, Import/Export entries, and AWB, querying when necessary.
* Support with Service department administration, including preparing quotations, packing, and shipment.
* Sales order processing.
* Credit control.
* General Office Tasks – Answering the phones, managing shared email accounts, filing, laser manual printing.
* Liaising with colleagues across all levels of the business, dealing with ad hoc requests as required.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Shipping Administrator:
* Experience in Export compliance and shipping is essential.
* Good decision-making skills, ability to evaluate, prioritise, and plan while responding to quickly changing workloads.
* A methodical, logical approach with good problem-solving abilities.
* Conscientious with a high level of attention to detail.
* Able to work on their own initiative within a time-critical setting and as part of a team.
