Your new company is a privately owned BuildingServices Consultancy that is seeking for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineerbased within Nottingham due to the growth of the team.
Your new role
As a GraduateMechanical Design Engineer, you will work alongside our mechanical andelectrical building services Design Engineers and Revit Technicians as part ofa multi discipline team producing detailed, complex and sustainable buildingservices designs in both a 2D and 3D environment.
You will be workingalongside other mechanical designers on a wide range of projects across varioussectors, delivering services from feasibility through to a detailed and fullycoordinated design for installation purposes - RIBA Stages 0 to 5.
Your role will be tohelp deliver mechanical building services design, training through workplaceexperience. You will assist with the design of mechanical building servicessuch as HVAC, domestic hot and cold water and public health systems. You willalso utilise dynamic simulation design software to undertake building physicsstudies; air flow and heat gain for example.
Training will be provided for design software packages including H2X, Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD and REVIT.
Duties Will Include
1. Designing, sizing and selecting electrical systems using various calculation software packages
2. Implementing sustainable technologies into the electrical design
3. Production of three-dimensional models, drawings, specifications and reports
4. Preparing load calculations and applying for utility connections
5. Coordinating design with colleagues from other disciplines
6. Referring to industry design guides, British Standards and Building Regulations
7. Attend client, design team and project meetings
8. Undertake feasibility studies and surveys
You may need toundertake other duties as may be required to achieve objectives.
What you'll need to succeed
9. Degree in building services/architectural engineering or equivalent
10. Confident with Microsoft Office, predominately Word, Excel, and Outlook
11. Willingness and ability to use design software
