Are you an experienced Financial Controller looking for a flexible, part-time role within a dynamic and growing property management company? We're looking for a detail-oriented finance professional to join our team and play a key role in overseeing and enhancing their financial operations.
About the Role
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial functions of the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. This is a part-time position based at their Cheltenham office, with a commitment of three days per week; however, these hours can be flexible across days if easier for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
2. Maintain and manage ledgers and financial systems
3. Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
4. Support the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, reports, and returns
5. Manage cash flow and maintain bank accounts
6. Conduct financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making
7. Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
8. Liaise with external auditors and manage the annual audit process
9. Develop and enforce robust financial controls and procedures
10. Collaborate with Property Managers to ensure accurate coding, reconciliations, and reporting
11. Supervise and support the Assistant Accountant
12. Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely payments
Requirements
1. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA preferred)
2. Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the real estate sector
3. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
4. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
5. Experience with Xero is an advantage
