Overview
MCL requires a HVAC Engineer on an Offshore FEED Project for our Oil and Gas client.
Duration: Initial 6 month contract role with an immediate start.
Rate: Target limited company rate of circa £55.00 per hour.
Location: The role will be based on 5 days a week in the Clients Offices in Leatherhead. Hybrid working is possible with two days remote per week.
The role is likely to be outside IR35 but the final decision will be made after a QDOS assessment.

Responsibilities
Job Description:
Responsible for the design, specification, selection, vendor drawing reviews, and testing services relating to offshore oil and gas equipment, including:
1. HVAC equipment, including air handling and ductwork design.
The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company, equipment fabricator, machinery manufacturer, or end user company. Personnel would be expected to have varied and extensive experience of mechanical equipment applications in the onshore and offshore oil and gas project environment to include concept, front end engineering design, and detailed design.
Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and effective interaction with others. Selected personnel will be highly competent in written and spoken communication and be able to use a range of standard software, such as MS Word and MS Excel, to prepare technical documents and to write technical reports.
Requirements
For this role, the following experience is required:
1. Required offshore HVAC experience in the petrochemical industry.
2. Previous experience working as a lead HVAC, leading a team on FEED or EPC.
3. Specialist and detailed knowledge of air handling equipment and ductwork designs, including the skills to prepare and review philosophies and specifications, D&IDs, air flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, 2D layouts, 3D CAD models, and HAZOP scenarios.
4. A working knowledge of industry standards for HVAC equipment is required.
Qualifications
The preferred qualification requirements for this position are:
1. A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. A full professional qualification such as a Chartered Engineer (full member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers CIBSE or a recognised equivalent).
