Sysco International are currently recruiting a Senior Manager - Financial Systems & Reporting to join the International Finance team on a full time, permanent basis, reporting into the Senior Director of Financial Reporting. This role will form a team of 4 and have 2 direct reports.
The Senior Manager - Financial Systems & Reporting (FSR) will define, implement and maintain processes, procedures and associated controls in the European Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC) system to make complete, accurate and timely submissions to the GSC (US Head Office) for external reporting. You will manage system change requests, chair the monthly Governance meetings and present these for approval.
The Senior Manager - FSR is the owner of the EU BPC system, the lead BPC contact for Europe and is responsible for setting policies and procedures for the team, whilst ensuring that they remain compliant with accounting standards and Sysco’s policies. The role is responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual cycle tasks and large project workstreams to drive enhancements of the quality and consistency of data collected. The role is required to identify issues in the data/consolidation and propose and present solutions clearly to senior stakeholders.
The Senior Manager – FSR will identify areas for improvement and lead on projects to enhance the system and the quality of data collected, whilst ensuring consistency across the markets. This role also acts as a bridge between the technical system experts and the finance teams.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
* Manage the month end close timetable for Europe, building and maintaining controls and processes to ensure accurate and complete data is submitted to the GSC on time, including management of submission timetables.
* Proactively seek and drive continuous improvement to ensure the month end process is as efficient as possible whilst achieving consistent accurate data for Reporting and FP&A teams to rely on.
* Manage the relationship with European markets / the GSC FSR team / 3rd party provider (Infosys) and market & European project teams (eg. ERP team).
* Chair the monthly EU governance meeting and present change requests for approval by committee. Form part of the GSC BPC Governance team to ensure consistency between systems.
* Own the EU BPC master data and governance process for Europe, challenging requests where appropriate.
* Project manage the BPC workstream on any project (including onboarding of new acquisitions and EU ERP implementation) and lead the ERP/BPC change management associated with these.
* Identify areas for improvement to enable streamlined processes, create efficiencies and increase insights; create project plans and execute within agreed timelines.
* Business partner with Sysco Corp / BPC technical support / local markets to resolve issues, provide training and provide system solutions to business requirements.
* Own BPC user manuals and user training programs.
* SOX control owner for BPC controls.
* Develop and encourage team members, encourage accountability, continuous improvement, process excellence and self-driven development.
About you:
You must be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in a commercial environment and have a good accounting knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP. The successful candidate will have experience in preparing financial statements and legal consolidation with a strong systems background (system implementation / improvement) and experience of BPC (or other consolidation systems) with an understanding of the capability/ functionality and limitations of such a system. You’ll possess the ability to define and develop policies, processes and controls to deliver the desired outcome whilst working in a fast-paced environment. It’s essential that you can lead, mentor and develop your team and work autonomously, problem solve and present solutions. A high level of attention to detail including accuracy and thoroughness to avoid errors in financial information is required for this role coupled with the ability to present and articulate ideas and solutions to a wide audience.
