B&W Canada is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the role in its construction business as a junior Project Manager/Project Engineer.

Job Description Summary
The junior Project Manager/Project Engineer will work in a regional office reporting to the Regional Construction Manager. The candidate will work with and be mentored by other project managers and superintendents in the office. Travel and time at project sites are normal for this role.
The successful candidate will be mentored to manage small construction projects in the industrial environment (Oil and Gas, Pulp and Paper, Mining, Power Generation, Environmental Controls Technology).
Specific Duties
* Project manage contracts between $50,000 and $1M.
* Working with an assigned construction supervisor, directs, plans and monitors resources for project completion, assessing manpower and material requirements.
* Monitors quotations for engineering and manufacturing lead times for proposals.
* Conducts regular project review meetings to follow contract performance status.
* Develops strategies for project margin improvement through order changes and reduction in costs.
* Works with internal team in the negotiation of terms and conditions, order changes and potential warranty or back charge items.
Qualifications
Education and/or Relevant Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field, or a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an on-site Project Manager.
· Interest or experience in managing smaller projects involving engineering, procurement, and construction.
· Familiarity with Primavera scheduling tools or a willingness to learn.
Candidate Requirements
· Speak, read, and write English (French would be an asset).
· Basic familiarity with boilers and steam generating equipment or keen willingness to learn.
· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
· Must be able to work according to our customers' schedules which may include weekends / after hours.
· Basic familiarity with ASME, NFPA and related codes, welding procedures.
· Must be able to wear proper PPE for the job.
